What if every whistle this season could help change someone's life?
In 2025, that’s exactly what happened.
Because of more than 60 pledge participants, including 20 new donors, United Cards for Good raised $6860 to support Advantage Services at CommonBond Communities. What started as yellow and red cards during Minnesota United matches turned into real support for families across Minnesota.
What made 2025 so Successful?
The Loons kept referees busy:
91 yellow cards (an above-average year)
1 red card (a big improvement compared to 8 reds in 2024)
21 players and 1 coach received disciplinary cards
Each one of those cards helped make donations. Instead of just being upsetting moments in a game, they became opportunities to give back.
Top Fundraising Leaders for MNUFC
Nicolás Romero & Pereyra (tied for first) with 11 yellows each — combining to raise almost one fourth of our funds raised for CommonBond
Romero earned a yellow in every month from March through November
Rosales (Second Place) with 8% of total funds, boosted by the season’s only red card.
Markanich & Boxall (Tied for Third) with 7 yellows each — 7.4% of total funds each.
There were also some interesting moments throughout the season, like a yellow card in an international “friendly” and Coach Ramsey waiting until the playoff game to receive his only card. No matter when they happened, they all contributed to the final total.
Where the Money Goes
For the 2026 season, DGS United through our United Cards for Good fundraiser is proud to once again support Advantage Services at CommonBond Communities.
CommonBond provides affordable housing at 93 properties across Minnesota, including 29 in the Twin Cities and two within blocks of Allianz Field (Lexington Commons and Skyline Tower).
However, housing is only part of what they do. Through Advantage Services, residents have access to programs that support families, children, veterans, and older adults. These services include financial coaching, youth programs, and other resources that help people build stability and improve their futures.
Your pledge directly supports these programs and helps strengthen communities.

This fundraiser makes the season more engaging while also making a real difference. You choose a pledge amount for each yellow and red card, and at the end of the season your total donation is calculated based on the team’s cards. Last year we raised $6860. The question is, can we do even more in 2026?
