Bridging Furnishes Homes with Hope by specializing in providing a “foundational home setup” to those who need items necessary to create a comfortable and functional home. As families face the challenge of finding affordable housing, employment, education, and health care, they may be left with limited resources to furnish their home. By relieving the pressure to purchase furnishings, Bridging services provide families with a comfortable home, which allows them to focus on other crucial matters in their lives. 

Join DGS on Saturday, November 14 , 8:30 to 11:30 at Bridging’s Bloomington location. Youth 14+ are welcome to volunteer with an accompanying adult.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT? 

• We’ll kick it off with a quick welcome/program tour.

• We may be doing warehouse work (picking client orders, loading trucks) or stocking the client shopping shelves with furniture and housewares, inspecting and sorting linens, organizing the shopping area.

• Projects will be determined on our volunteer day based on donated inventory, needs, and final group size.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

• You should dress comfortably and in clothing that can get dusty or dirty. You will be volunteering in a warehouse.  

• The warehouse is open air – no air conditioning

• Comfortable, close-toed shoes required – you’ll be working on concrete.

• Optional: Water bottle
